WASHINGTON: The Financial Services Roundtable hired APCO Worldwide for a PR campaign, following a competitive bid. The news was first reported March 24 by Bloomberg, which noted that Luntz Maslansky Strategic Research and DDB are also included on the roster of firms supporting the effort.
The news service writes that the roundtable, which represents companies like Visa, State Farm Insurance, JPMorgan Chase, and Fidelity, is "starting an image-improvement campaign aimed at showing the financial industry as trustworthy and a positive force after more than a year of being chastised in Washington."
Scott Talbott, SVP of government affairs for the roundtable, told PRWeek that it hired APCO Worldwide for the campaign. He declined to provide additional information.
Agency sources confirmed Fleishman-Hillard, Qorvis Communications, Waggener Edstrom Worldwide, and Story Partners, the three-month old public affairs shop founded by Gloria Dittus, pitched the account.
