Former PRSA leader Betsy Plank passes away

CHICAGO: Betsy Plank, a well-known figure in the PR industry, passed away on May 23, at the age of 86, following a short illness.

CHICAGO: Betsy Plank, a well-known figure in the PR industry, passed away on May 23, at the age of 86, following a short illness. According to PRSA, Plank was the first female president of PRSA and won three of PRSA's individual honors: the Gold Anvil, the Paul M. Lund Public Service Award, and the Patrick Jackson Award for Distinguished Service to PRSA.

Plank served as EVP of Daniel J. Edelman, Inc. (now Edelman), director of PR planning at AT&T, and director of external affairs for Illinois Bell (now AT&T Illinois). She was also active in the Arthur W. Page Society and with establishing PRSSA.
