Kaplow to open West Coast office

NEW YORK: Kaplow is planning to open a new office, Kaplow West, in San Francisco on July 1.

NEW YORK: Kaplow Communications is planning to open a new office, Kaplow West, in San Francisco on July 1. The office is the first expansion for the New York-based agency and will serve a number of consumer and technology clients, including Skype, Netflix, CafePress, and Coupons.com.

"We're excited to be extending the Kaplow brand to the West Coast," said Liz Kaplow, CEO of Kaplow. "We believe the timing is right; there is tremendous potential." She added that plans for the new office had been in the works for about a year.

New hire Nissa Anklesaria will serve as SVP and head of Kaplow West. She previously served as head of communications for BabyCenter for two years. She also spent eight years at Yahoo, directing corporate communications for several divisions, including media and advertising. In addition, she worked at broadcast.com and Open Table.

Anklesaria said the extension to the West Coast will offer the opportunity to attract new consumer technology clients.

"There's so much innovation there," she said. "Also, it makes sense to give our clients some additional support."

Kaplow said the agency plans to send some of its New York-based employees to work out of the San Francisco office on a rotating basis for one week each month. The agency plans to hire three to five full-time employees for the new office within a few months.
