The data is pulled from the organization's Hispanic PR Wire distribution list and is "the first time Hispanic PR Wire media data has been made available to the public," said Cristy Clavijo-Kish, SVP of multicultural markets for PR Newswire. She added that clients have asked about getting the information in the past.
"We provide the information so you do distribution with us, but have a more honed-in communications tool to connect with Hispanic media," she added, noting that communications professionals can follow up with reporters or work to build relationships with the media outlets.
The database allows users to search based on a reporter's name or publication, outlet type, and location or market area. The service is separate from PR Newswire's other Hispanic and multicultural tools.
More corporations are focusing efforts on the Hispanic market, in part because of the Census, she said, and PR Newswire wanted to "help them practice better communication with Hispanic media."
