Orbitz names new CMO

Orbitz hired Chris Orton, previously senior director of Internet marketing for eBay, as CMO, a year after losing Jeff Davidoff.

Orbitz hired Chris Orton, previously senior director of Internet marketing for eBay, as CMO, a year after losing Jeff Davidoff. Orton will work to develop online marketing systems for the online travel company, as he has a background in "algorithmic approaches to online marketing and CRM," the company said in a statement.

Brandweek also reported: "Shortly after [Davidoff's] departure, Orbitz hired Deborah Italiano as VP of brand marketing; she will now report to Orton and continue to lead brand efforts."
