ScienceBlogs, a blogging website operated privately by Seed Media, features writing from its network of science bloggers. Seed Media recently allowed PepsiCo to purchase its own sponsored blog called Food Frontiers—and science bloggers were outraged, Forbes reported on Wednesday.
Members of ScienceBlogs reacted with multiple objections to the corporation's presence, “masked” advertising, and the blur between scientific content and corporate marketing. Many said they were taking a break from ScienceBlogs, while others claimed they were quitting the network entirely.
ScienceBlogs responded on Thursday with an announcement that Food Frontiers had been removed from the network.
