WASHINGTON, DC: The Ad Council, in collaboration with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, has launched a PSA series targeting American Indian, Hispanic/Latino and Chinese American communities. The PSAs, which coincide with National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month, are designed to encourage ethnic minority youth to seek out resources to help them overcome issues related to psychological distress. According to the Ad Council, young adults from ethnic minorities are much less likely to seek treatment compared with their Caucasian counterparts.
