NEW YORK: Fleishman-Hillard has hired Stephanie Marchesi, former president of Cohn & Wolfe's New York office, as senior partner and MD of global integrated marketing communications, a new position at the agency.

She will work across all of the firm's practice groups and will be based in Fleishman's New York office. She will begin her new position August 2 and reports to Jack Modzelewski, president of global client relations and senior partner at Fleishman-Hillard.

Marchesi joined GCI as president of the New York office in 2006, later helping guide the firm through its merger with Cohn & Wolfe in 2008. In her role as president of Cohn & Wolfe's New York office, she oversaw the corporate, consumer, healthcare, and digital practices.

Cohn & Wolfe is currently conducting a search to fill the position Marchesi vacated, although CEO Donna Imperato told PRWeek that she may hire a more senior position who would have global responsibilities.

Michael Bayer, the corporate practice leader and deputy GM at Cohn & Wolfe since April, is acting in an interim capacity.

CORRECTION: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated Jack Modzelewski's title. His title is president of global client relations.
