HOUSTON: Continental Airlines and United Airlines announced the expected leadership team of the combined airline, including Nene Foxhall, who is expected to oversee communications and government affairs.

Foxhall joined Continental in 1995 and currently oversees communications and government affairs for the airline. The appointments will be finally confirmed once the merger process is complete.

A release from United added that Rosemary Moore, SVP of corporate and government affairs, will leave the company upon the close of the merger.

Tony Cervone, CCO and SVP at United, told PRWeek the next step for top management is to begin to decide how they want to proceed with the various functions they are responsible for. At this time, he would not speculate about what may happen.

Additional expected appointments - their current positions are expected to be transitioned to the combined carrier, confirmed Cervone - include Continental CMO Jim Compton and Continental's Mike Bonds, who is responsible for human resources and labor relations.

Jeff Foland, who was SVP of sales and marketing at United, will lead the combined carrier's loyalty program.
