SAN DIEGO: Mobile and PC software firm Smith Micro hired Lewis PR to rebrand the company and promote products including its cloud-based file delivery service SendStuffNow that launched this month.

Lewis was named global AOR following about a three-month RFP process that included several agencies said Nisha Morris, PR manager at Smith Micro Software. She declined to name the other agencies that pitched for the work or the incumbent agency, which “left on a good a relationship,” she said.

“It was a tight race, but in the end it was an easy decision,” Morris said. “Lewis PR is great with product launches.”

Lewis PR's Amy Robinson, account manager, and Katie Eakins, managing director of Lewis' San Diego office, will report to Morris. Four people at the agency will work on the account.

The contract is initially one year long, but “we are focused on a long-term relationship,” Eakins said. PR will mostly be geared toward the US market, and internationally will focus on Asia and Europe.

Smith Micro Software also retains the PR services of FortyThree PR in Santa Cruz, CA.
