'Jersey Shore' gets the royal PR treatment

MTV is pulling out all the stops to help promote the second season of its wildly, if still inexplicably, popular show "Jersey Shore," which premieres tomorrow night.

MTV is pulling out all the stops to help promote the second season of its wildly, if still inexplicably, popular show "Jersey Shore," which premieres tomorrow night. In addition to creating a Facebook game and iPhone app based on the show, some PR genius at MTV (truly!) was able to get the group to ring the opening bell of the New York Stock Exchange yesterday — complete with fist pumps. Seriously. The Dow went down slightly and there were enough GTL (gym, tan, laundry) jokes in the coverage to make anyone cringe, but hey, it's all in the name of publicity, right?
