WASHINGTON: The government of Malaysia renewed a public affairs and government relations contract with APCO Worldwide, according to a federal database.

WASHINGTON: The government of Malaysia renewed a public affairs and government relations contract with APCO Worldwide, according to a federal database. The Malaysian Insider reported in early July that the government had renewed with the firm, despite past criticism about APCO's alleged ties to Israel.

The firm began working with Malaysia in mid-2009 as part of an effort to promote a positive relationship between Malaysia and the US. It later opened an office in Kuala Lumpur.
