SAN FRANCISCO: Tech PR consultancy Bite Communications has hired former Waggener Edstrom executive Michelle Herman to head the Next Fifteen agency's North America business.

She has been appointed to drive growth and oversee the agency's offices in New York, Toronto and San Francisco, where she will be based. Herman will also work closely with the agency's existing clients, including HP, Sybase, Vonage and AMD.

As general manager, North America, Herman will report to London-based Bite CEO Clive Armitage. The appointment signifies an end to double duty for Armitage, who has been filling the vacant position for the last three months. In May, former Bite Communications North America GM Tom Galvin left to lead the corporate consultancy 463 Communications.

Both Bite and 463 are subsidiaries of the Next Fifteen Communications Group.

At Waggener Edstrom, Herman was SVP and global technology practice leader and GM in San Francisco. Her 20 years of communications and marketing experience includes stints as senior managing director at Spark PR and corporate communications roles at Hyperion Solutions and Cadence Design Systems.

Early in her career, she worked on communications teams in two presidential campaigns and as a congressional lobbyist.

Executive recruitment shop Flesher & Associates helped Bite's North American HR team fill the position.  Herman starts on September 13.
