LOS ANGELES: Video game maker Atari has rehired PR pro and self-proclaimed gamer Erik Reynolds to be its senior director of PR.
In 2005, Reynolds left Atari after working at the company for two years to become global PR director of Vivendi Games. In 2008, he started his own PR consulting company.
Founded in 1972, Atari is a well-known pioneer in the console video game industry, but now the company is looking to make a move into online gaming.
“What's exciting is that it's a very different company,” Reynolds said. "The goal is to reinforce our direct line of communication with the consumer. I am the kind of guy they need as they move into online gaming.”
Reynolds got his start in PR at GolinHarris in 1999. His first account was video game publisher Nintendo.
