SUMMIT, NJ: BackChannelMedia, a technology and service provider to the broadcast and cable industries, issued an RFP for a firm to increase national exposure of the company and promote its Clickable TV product.
Clickable TV allows consumers to bookmark programs and ads on TV using a cable remote. An e-mail is sent to the consumer with more information on the program or ad they bookmarked. The product is launching to Knology HD TV subscribers in Montgomery, AL this month.
Eric Martin, vice president of marketing for BackChannel, is heading the search and said he is looking specifically for a NY-based firm to work on the national PR efforts. BackChannel will continue to work with Intermark Group for local promotions in Montgomery.
“It's interesting technology and something new. We have unique challenges to overcome, but the feedback we've received has been extremely positive,” Martin said, adding that he has spoken to multiple candidates but he declined to name any specific firms.
The company is working on a quick turnaround with a deadline for proposals on September 22 and a decision to be made on September 24. The total budget is projected to be between $75,000 and $120,000.
