ATLANTA:  Computer repair and optimization software startup, SlimWare Utilities, has named Trevelino/Keller Communications Group its AOR for media and analyst relations, social media support, and strategic brand messaging.

“We wanted a firm small enough to be nimble, but with the resources needed to reach a national audience,” said SlimWare VP of corporate communications Carla Shaw, who led the agency search. “They submitted the best proposal.”

Shaw considered up to six agencies. She did not disclose other details of the account.

Founded in 2009 and based in Biloxi, MS, SlimWare Utilities develops downloadable software with the input of information technology experts through Internet crowd-sourcing, dubbed “community-based” applications. The cloud-based technology cleans repairs and optimizes personal computers, including tablets and mobile devices.

A Trevelino/Keller team of three, led by account director Dana Mark, will work the account. SlimWare did not previously work with a PR agency.

“Because we are a startup, we wanted an agency with a proven track record in technology PR,” said Shaw. “It was a good fit.”
