Small businesses get boost from big names

The Wall Street Journal had an interesting article today about how small businesses can partner with a larger company and leverage that marketing opportunity.

It gave the example of Mountain News Corp.'s iPhone app, which got a shout-out in an Apple commercial, and the company increased the number of visitors to its site by 1 million.

We recently did a Campaign piece on something similar with MillerCoors, which highlighted small businesses during Super Bowl ads, as the brewer focused more on a local push. As small businesses are still figuring out how to best use social media, sometimes these partnerships with larger companies can provide learning opporunities in that area, in addition to straight publicity.
