Havas CEO cautious about US recovery

David Jones, CEO of Havas Worldwide, recently told Dow Jones, of the US market, "I think there is more uncertainty than optimism out there now."

David Jones, CEO of Havas Worldwide, is a bit unsure about recovery of the US advertising market, according to Dow Jones. Jones told reporters of the US market, "I think there is more uncertainty than optimism out there now."

He did say that Havas is looking to make acquisitions, particularly in digital, healthcare, and emerging markets, and chairman Vincent Bollore has spoken out about his plans to do so.

But while Jones is more cautious, other holding company executives, like WPP CEO Sir Martin Sorrell, have expressed more optimism in the past. Dow Jones reported that Sorrell said "the recent turnaround in the US ad market was the fastest the group had seen in its 25 years of existence, although he also said there were reasons to be cautious about the U.S. economy."
