ST. LOUIS and BOSTON: Fleishman-Hillard and Cone will work together in a new strategic alliance to expand global reach and offer integrated services to joint clients.
The partnership will provide Cone with access to Fleishman's 80 global offices in 25 countries. Fleishman will have access to Cone's cause branding and corporate responsibility expertise.
Jens Bang, CEO of Cone, said the opportunity to serve clients on a global level fueled the partnership.
“We've done global programs in the past, but the challenge is not having local and in-market expertise," Bang said. "Each region has nuances that need to be addressed and we don't have that reach. Instead of trying to build our own network, we decided on a partnership to take advantage of Fleishman's expertise."
So far there are no new clients signed up to use the alliance and Bang said they are still looking at current clients that can benefit from it. There will be no job rationalization at either agency as a result of the alliance.
“This is purely a strategic alliance with global reach as the primary purpose,” he explained.
