NEW YORK: Zeno Group hired Ame Wadler as a managing director of health and strategic planning, effective October 11.
Wadler, most recently EVP, chief management officer, and global healthcare practice leader at MWW Group, has held senior healthcare positions at Burson-Marsteller and Edelman.
In the new position at Zeno Group, she will work closely with Heather Gartman, MD in the firm's health group. Wadler, who will be based in the New York office, will report to Barby Siegel, CEO of Zeno Group.
Siegel said that the firm's growth strategy includes making “significant senior-level hires.” Part of Wadler's responsibilities will include growing the overall healthcare business, from pharmaceutical clients to consumer health work.
Zeno Group works with AstraZeneca, the American Urological Association Foundation, and Abraxis BioScience. About 25 of the firm's 70 staffers work in the health group, according to Siegel.
Michael Kempner, president and CEO at MWW Group, said that the agency plans to hire a replacement for Wadler's role as head of the heathcare practice, but it will not hire someone to fill the management role she vacated. He said that several senior executives are leading the healthcare practice during the search process.
