SANTA CRUZ, CA: Audio headset maker Plantronics chose tech PR Voce Communications as its new AOR to promote the company's gear in the corporate market.
The account is worth approximately $600,000 annually plus projects. Voce beat out a total of 10 firms, including AOR The Hoffmann Agency. Voce was already doing social media PR work for Plantronics when the RFP was issued, and will continue to do as AOR.
Plantronics VP of corporate marketing Clay Hausmann said it had come time to make an aggressive move into the enterprise market as companies revamp workplaces into “unified communications” platforms. He said much of their previous campaigns had focused on the consumer market.
Hausmann noted that the consumer sector remains an important market to the company, though Voce will also work to position Plantronics as thought leaders in enterprise communications gear.
The Hoffman Agency had been Plantronics' AOR for the past four and a half years.
“From a PR standpoint our needs changed,” Hausmann said. “We need to make our voices larger in the unified communications world.”
A core of team of up to seven people will work the account, headed by Voce Communications VP Stacy Libby. The work starts immediately.
Both Hausmann and Plantronics director of corporate communications Dan Race spearheaded the agency search.
