WASHINGTON: Quinn Gillespie & Associates tapped John Feehery as president of the firm's communications practice – a role last held by then co-chairman Ed Gillespie before he departed the firm in 2007 to join the Bush Administration.
Feehery has worked as a consultant for The Feehery Group since 2007. Before that, he served as EVP of global government relations and global PR at the Motion Picture Association of America for two years.
As president of communications and a director in the firm, he will report to Jack Quinn, co-founder and chairman, when he starts November 1. Feehery said that some clients he represented at his consultancy may join Quinn Gillespie.
The WPP Group-owned firm has long been recognized for its lobbying expertise. In the last year, it has made several hires in its communications practice and doubled the size of the team to nine, now including Feehery.“The vision of Quinn Gillespie is that strategic communications and government relations go hand-in-hand,” said Feehery, later noting that clients are seeking an integrated approach to policy issues and communications.
