Both Zucker and Gollust will be leaving the company when the takeover by Comcast is complete. Comcast's COO Steve Burke will replace Zucker.
“For the past 14 years I've been lucky enough to work with the most talented professionals in the business–a business I've watched grow from a traditional domestic over-the-air television network to a global media conglomerate,” Gollust said in a statement issued to PRWeek. “It has been an extraordinary experience to travel the world, live history, and participate in remarkable change. I was honored to play a role in telling the story of NBC Universal, and I leave knowing that it is poised for an exciting new beginning.”
Gollust was promoted to the top comms position in July 2009 after serving as the VP of NBC News communications since 2002. As EVP, she serves as chief spokesperson for Zucker and NBC Universal.
Recently, Abernathy MacGregor Group president Adam Miller announced he is leaving the agency at the end of the year to go to Comcast as a senior adviser. Abernathy worked on the deal between Comcast and NBC Universal.
