Bill Hughes joined CA Technologies in 2006 and is responsible for global communications. In this role, he directs all communications and philanthropic efforts, and works closely with the company's government affairs, marketing, and investor relations departments.

Hughes has more than 25 years of experience in the technology, pharmaceutical, banking industries, and in consumer and corporate public relations, branding, marketing, social and digital media.

Prior to joining CA Technologies, he was vice president for global communications and public affairs at IMS Health, the world's leading market information company to the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry.

Previously, Hughes spent eight years at IBM Corporation, where he held a number of senior executive positions. From 2002 to 2004, he was based in IBM's headquarters and served as corporate vice president of media relations. In that role, he directed media relations, including financial and corporate communications, and was the primary company spokesperson. He also served as head of communications for IBM's Asia-Pacific region in Tokyo, and directed and managed communications for the IBM PC Company, a $19 billion division.

Earlier in his career, Hughes was senior vice president and general manager at Burson-Marsteller (LA). He was also senior vice president and general manager at Shandwick, with offices in London, Los Angeles, and Boston.
