WASHINGTON: The American Chemistry Council hired Anne Womack Kolton as its VP of communications.
Kolton, who held previous positions at APCO Worldwide and the Department of Energy, worked briefly at BP earlier this year. She had been hired as head of US media relations for BP, following the retirement of Ronnie Chappell, and began work during the company's crisis response to the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
Bloomberg reported in August that Kolton had left BP.
In her new role, Kolton reports to Cal Dooley, president and CEO of the American Chemistry Council, and oversees the organization's internal and external communications. She replaces Lisa Harrison, who left the council.
