LONDON: The Financial Times has launched a free app optimized for the new Samsung Galaxy Tab.

LONDON: The Financial Times has launched a free app optimized for the new Samsung Galaxy Tab.

Samsung will sponsor free access to Financial Times content on the app until the end of November. Users will need to register after reading three articles a month, and then can choose to subscribe after reading 10 articles.

“The FT.com app for the Samsung Galaxy Tab builds on the success of the award-winning Financial Times app for the Apple iPad launched in May, which has already gained over 400,000 downloads,” said Rob Grimshaw, managing director for FT.com, in a statement.

In addition to providing access to all major sections of FT.com, users can also consume video content, analyze key metrics in a dedicated markets data section, and check their personal investment portfolios.
