NEW YORK: Almost 70% of communications pros who participated in a recent survey have considered using a multimedia release.
The survey, conducted by NASDAQ OMX GlobeNewswire at the PRSA event held in Washington last month, sought to capture the perceptions of evolving news dissemination practices in the PR profession.
Of the 70% that have considered using a video release, 91% have used or are aware of do-it-yourself news services. Fifty-seven percent of respondents believe digital, video, and picture elements are valuable addition to traditional, text-only press releases.
“The results of our survey indicate increased demand for digital innovation across the communication landscape,” said Demetrios Skalkotos, SVP of global corporate services, NASDAQ OMX.
Respondents to the survey indicate they value a change to the press release, but 93% said they believe the text-only releases are still necessary to the news release process.
