RIVERSIDE, CA: Computer science graduate students at the University of California, Riverside created a free tool that allows people to control who views their tweets.

The tool, called Twitsper, allows users to create lists comprising subsets of their Twitter followers.  After the list is created, the creator and others on the list can send tweets to each other without others seeing. The group said they created the free app because the Twitter platform lacks such a privacy feature.

The app can be downloaded for free on an Android smarthphone or on the Android market
