San Francisco-based Zynga, the social game company best known for the game Farmville, acquired mobile games developer Newtoy.

Newtoy, headquartered in McKinney, TX, developed the mobile games Words With Friends and Chess With Friends. The Newtoy headquarters will become a part of the The Zynga With Friends Studio, a game studio that builds games for Zynga.

Dani Dudeck Zynga's GM of corporate communications declined to comment on the acquisition. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
