WASHINGTON: The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services issued an RFP for multiple indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) communications contracts, according to a federal filing.
In 2006, CMS awarded Ketchum, Ogilvy PR Worldwide, Porter Novelli, and Weber Shandwick IDIQ contracts. Agencies that are awarded IDIQ contracts can bid against each other on specific task orders during the contract's allotted time period.
Agencies that are selected will support CMS activities such as developing and implementing communications programs, strategies, and materials for the federal agency's education and grassroots campaigns.
The cap for the IDIQ contracts is $400 million.
Tasks include PR and advertising campaigns, social media, research and monitoring, and events and conferences. Four to six vendors are expected to receive contracts. The length of the contracts is one base year, plus six one-year options.
Interested vendors as of December 22 include Edelman, Qorvis Communications, Hill & Knowlton, Fenton Communications, CMGRP, McNeely Pigott & Fox PR, and Ketchum. The filed is dated December 21.
