SANTA CLARA, CA: Visual computing powerhouse NVIDIA, known for developing graphic processor technologies, hired Airfoil Public Relations for corporate communications work.
The job is at least a six-figure annual account, said NVIDIA VP of corporate communications Robert Sherbin. No formal RFP was issued, but six agencies were seriously considered for the piece of work, he said.
“We spoke to a number of agencies informally and formally,” he added. Sherbin led the search.
Previously, NVIDIA employed The Outcast Agency for the work for roughly the last three to four years, Sherbin said. Recently, NVIDIA moved a portion of the work Outcast was doing in-house.
“We were looking to take a somewhat different approach, and bring in some fresh jerseys,” Sherbin said.
Outcast confirmed it previously worked with NVIDIA, but declined to comment further.
As part of the corporate communications work Airfoil will be doing, one component involves executive speaking opportunities. The account is headed by Airfoil SVP and partner Tracey Parry. Up to four additional people are also working the account
Parry reports to Sherbin.
NVIDIA also employs Text 100 for its mobile business, as well as Raz Public Relations for its product work station group.
