NEW YORK: Joele Frank, Wilkinson Brimmer Katcher advised on $133.6 billion worth of M&A deals in 2010.
The business landed the firm as the top US PR adviser for M&A deals in the Mergermarket League of Table of PR Advisors Year End 2010.
Last year marked the first time Joele Frank became the leading PR adviser to US M&A on the Mergermarket record. In 2009, the firm advised on $85.9 billion worth of deals. The Mergermarket report also noted Kekst and Company as the most active PR firm in the US with a total of 98 deals worked on last year. Abernathy MacGregor Group followed closely behind with 93 deals. Joele Frank advised on 88 deals.
In 2010, US M&A was up 4% from 2009, with a total of $723.0 billion worth of deals announced. Deal count was also up by 29.8% for the same period, with a total of 3,499 deals recorded last year.
Globally, Brunswick Group and FD were named the top PR advisers for worldwide M&A, with 2010 deals worth $227.8 billion and $191 billion, respectively. Meanwhile, FD took the lead over Brunswick on deal volume. FD advised on 223 deals, while Brunswick worked on 168.
Total global M&A, according to the Mergermarket report, reached $2,124.9 billion, up 24.8% from 2009. In addition, deal count was up by 23.5% at 11,933 announced deals.
