HHS to name new deputy secretary of public affairs

WASHINGTON: The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) confirmed that Jenny Backus, principal deputy assistant secretary for public affairs, left the federal agency January 7.

WASHINGTON: The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) confirmed that Jenny Backus, principal deputy assistant secretary for public affairs, left the federal agency January 7. Chris Stenrud, deputy assistant secretary for public affairs, said HHS plans to name a deputy to replace Backus next week.

Before joining HHS, Backus owned a consulting firm that provided strategic communications services.
