ROCHESTER, NY: Bausch & Lomb awarded Zeno Group its vision care business in North America, after working with sister agency Edelman since late 2009.

Jane Mazur, VP of PR for the eye care company's vision care division, said the work began January 1 for Zeno Group, which is owned by Edelman. It was not a competitive bid.

“We had a great relationship with Edelman,” she said. “But our business needs changed.”

Ame Wadler, MD of health and strategic planning at Zeno Group, was not immediately available for comment.

Mazur also confirmed that Bausch & Lomb built out its relationship with Weber Shandwick to include corporate issues both in the US and Europe. In addition, she said the company has expanded its work with Attention, its social media AOR in the US, to include global projects.

Mike McDougall, VP of corporate communications and public affairs at Bausch & Lomb, announced plans earlier this week to leave the company.
