Allison & Partners taps Weber EVP for new practice

NEW YORK: Billee Howard joined Allison & Partners in a new role of MD to lead the firm's new Brand Innovation Group, effective last week.

NEW YORK: Billee Howard joined Allison & Partners last week, in a newly created role of MD, leading the firm's new Brand Innovation Group. The MDC agency said the new practice, headquartered in New York, will be a "lab-type environment" to provide creative direction, strategic media innovation, brand development, and corporate trend spotting for clients across practices.

Howard was most recently EVP and MD of Weber Shandwick's Global Strategic Media Group. She co-founded the group with Jennifer Risi, who also recently left the firm. 

"I felt I had done all I could do there in that environment," said Howard. "I'm 38 years old. I wanted to go somewhere a little smaller, more entrepreneurial, and be more able to have the creative freedom and license in the area of innovation."

Within the group, she'll work with clients on corporate story-telling, as well as research industry trends, and next-generation media trends and tools.

In a statement, CEO Scott Allison referred to the news as building competitive advantage. He stated, "We are already in conversation with a number of global brands looking for a different point of view."
