NEW YORK: In MWW's first hire since its recent buyout from IPG, the agency appointed Jared Hendler to the role of EVP and global director of digital and creative services. In the newly created role, he will oversee the agency's "Dialogue Digital" practice, which now encompasses its visual branding group.

Hendler was most recently creative director of digital and social media strategy and creative and content programming at Katalyst Media. Prior to joining Katalyst in 2010, he was worldwide executive creative director in Edelman's digital group.

"One of the great benefits of being an independent agency is that we have the freedom to invest in areas that we see as long term growth opportunities for the firm, as well as the industry as a whole," president and CEO Michael Kempner said via e-mail. "Digital and social media is an area where we are investing heavily to deepen what is already a strong practice area for MWW."

Kempner noted that in the coming weeks the firm will announce a number of new hires, across all levels, within the practice.
