MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA: Ooyala, the online video platform for publishers and marketers, hired digital communications firm Horn Group as its AOR.
Ooyala VP of marketing Kelli Tejada said the company needed to hire an agency because it has a rapidly growing customer base and plans to expand globally. The company was founded in 2007.
The Horn Group will be providing PR thought leadership initiatives on the value of video to drive sales and impact a client's bottom line, digital communications, including content creation and data-driven campaigns.
Ooyala issued an RFP for the work back in November, and considered four agencies, said Tejada. Tejada, who led the search, declined to name the other agencies that pitched for the job.
“PR is a strategic initiative for us because it not only builds our brand, it helps our customers and prospects gain a better understanding of how Ooyala can help them build their businesses,” said Ooyala CEO Jay Fulcher in an e-mail.
The account is being led by Horn Group VP Corie Pierce out of the agency's New York office, but work will be conducted out of its San Francisco office as well. Pierce reports to Tejada.
Tejada said the work is a substantial investment for Ooyala, but declined to disclose any other details about the account. Ooyala doesn't work with any other PR agencies.
