NEW YORK: Peter Hirsch, former global corporate affairs leader at Porter Novelli, has been appointed to EVP and director of reputation risk at Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide.
In the newly created role, Hirsch is now responsible for increasing the strength of Ogilvy PR's footprint in corporate reputation, crisis management, executive visibility and thought leadership. He will be based in the firm's New York office and will report to Kate Cronin, MD of Ogilvy PR New York.
"Ogilvy has lots of deep assets in corporate reputation," said Hirsch. "They're not as widely known as they could be. Ogilvy's been known for brands. There's tremendous corporate work being done here and I want to help build that. In terms of the network, in the current multi-program multi-lateral world, many of the most exciting corporate reputation challenges and opportunities are going to be taking on the global footprint. [Ogilvy] is certainly one of the most global and very strong in the emerging markets and that makes sense and is particularly exciting because there are going to be opportunities for lots to help."
Before joining Ogilvy PR, Hirsch was principal at Peter Hirsch Strategies and worked with clients such as Johnson & Johnson, Veolia Transportation, and American Water. He had worked at Porter Novelli as the firm's global corporate affairs leader until the end of 2008.
