DAYTONA BEACH, FL: Brett Jewkes, former managing partner at Taylor, has been appointed to VP and CCO of NASCAR's integrated marketing communications department.
Jewkes will be responsible for all of NASCAR's communications functions, including development of communications strategy and management of each operational area in the IMC department, such as competition, sport services, stakeholder communications, brand and consumer marketing, digital and social media strategy, business communications, NASCAR Media Group entertainment, and crisis communications. In addition, he will aid in the development of corporate strategy, provide counsel, and project management to the executive team.
Previously Jewkes served as managing partner at Taylor, where he worked for 13 years. At the firm, he oversaw the motorsports practice and provided counsel to a number of organizations and brands, including NASCAR. His past assignments for NASCAR included a strategic review of the company and its communications practices in early 2010, as well as marketing communications NASCAR-related campaigns for Allstate Insurance Company, Gillette, Diageo, and others. Prior to Taylor, Jewkes worked at Coltrin & Associates.
Jewkes, who begins his new position on April 13, will be based in NASCAR's Charlotte, N.C., office.
