UAB announces board changes

NEW YORK: The Universal Accreditation Board moved three members into leadership positions and appointed six new board members.

NEW YORK: The Universal Accreditation Board moved three members into leadership positions and appointed six new board members.

John Forde, associate professor and head of the department of communications at Mississippi State University, and Jay Rayburn, associate professor department of communications at Florida State University, were appointed co-chairs. Bey-Ling Sha, associate professor in the school of journalism and media studies at San Diego State University, was appointed vice chair.

The following people were appointed to the board representing the Public Relations Society of America: Susan G. Barnes, instructor at Belmont University, Nashville; Adam Shane Bashaw, deputy director of public affairs for the United States Marine Corps, New Orleans; Barbara A. Burfeind, strategic communications director of defense visual information, Alexandria, Virginia; Debra A. DeCourcy, VP and director of corporate communications for  Fifth Third Bancorp, Cincinnati; Rose M. McKinney, president of Risdall McKinney Public Relations, New Brighton, Minnesota.
