LA JOLLA, CA: Lone Wolf Inc., a provider of social and digital marketing services, has opened a new division that specializes in investor relations.
Staff at LWI, which launched nine months ago, has collectively worked in social media and the financial industry since 2007. CEO Eric Rice said the new IR division came about due to a growing need of smaller companies that often can't hire a full-time IR staff to attract shareholders, as well as protect online reputation.
"We have to help protect the reputation of publicly traded companies, especially when they deal with consumers," he added. "Consumers have a big advantage online. If they are unhappy with the product or service they can bash that company 24 hours a day. By having an IR division we can explain why that customer is upset and interact with them directly and make it a better experience. More importantly, it lets investors know the company is still doing good things and we are handling the situation."
Rice said the IR division will operate as a separate entity, for which additional staff will be hired, including an SEC compliance officer.
"We would come in and establish an IR portal so investors can log in and get realtime information on regular deals, potential pipeline deals, and create interaction around that call symbol," he said.
LWI's clients include a retailer, liquidation company and wholesale distributor.
