DALLAS: Kimberly-Clark Corporation named Ken Smalling its VP of global communications. He most recently served as the interim leader in this role, following the departure of Laura Moore, VP of global communications, in November.

In this role, Smalling will lead the company's corporate communications functions, including employee communications, PR, and issues management. He will also oversee the Kimberly-Clark Foundation. He reports to CMO Tony Palmer.

He joined the company in March 2010 as senior director of corporate communications, in which he managed communications supporting enterprise and business unit initiatives, as well as internal communications. Prior to joining Kimberly-Clark, he served five years as senior director of corporate communications for Centex Corporation.

The announcement follows news of a multi-brand review for the company's North American Family Care business, including Kleenex, Cottonelle, Viva, and Scott. The company confirmed that the selection is still pending.
