NEW YORK: Peter S. McCue, EVP and director of corporate and business-to-business at Fleishman-Hillard, died on February 26 at the age of 64, after a long battle with cancer.
He joined the firm in 1987, and over the years he worked on corporate programs, regulatory initiatives, and crises. At Fleishman-Hillard, he assisted ABC in its battle with the broadcast technicians union, as well as the top management of both Caterpillar and Peabody Holding during their protracted disputes with the United Auto Workers and the United Mine Workers. He has also supported clients such as the governments of Turkey and Iceland, the Mexico Tourism board, Visa, General Motors, and AT&T,
He worked at Hill & Knowlton in the 1970s and 1980s.
In addition to his wife, Susan Jane McCue, he is survived by his brother Clifford in Boulder, CO.; two children, Lauren and Eric, and Eric's wife Cortney, residing in California; and two grandchildren, Madison and Charlotte.
Funeral services will be private, with a memorial service to be held at a date to be determined. The family asks that donations be made in Peter McCue's name to Trout Unlimited, an organization dedicated to conserving America's cold water fisheries.
