MIAMI: Claudia Gioia was promoted to head Buston-Marsteller's Miami office as market leader.
Gioia is head of the firm's innovation and technology practice for Latin America. She has been responsible for all of Burson's clients in that region for the last eight years. Some of these clients include Sony Electronics, Sony Ericsson, Goodyear, Symantec, Visa, HP Enterprise, HBO Latin America, and NII Holdings.
Before joining Burson-Marsteller in 1995, Gioia worked in the advertising industry at Schusshiem-Braga Menendez and J. Walter Thompson. She also founded public relations agency Estrategia SA, which was later acquired by Burson-Marsteller. In addition, Gioia founded publishing house Im-Pulsar SRL.
As head of the Miami office, Gioia will report to Santiago Hinojosa, Burson-Marsteller's president and CEO for Latin America.
