FRANKLIN, TN: As part of a move to shift senior leadership roles in the US, Nissan announced two changes in its marketing communications department.
Erich Marx, currently director of marketing communications, will be named director of social media and interactive marketing, with responsibility for Nissan's social media activities and online presence. He has been at Nissan for 20 years, during which time he held management positions in marketing operations, brand management, market intelligence, and marketing communications.
Bill Peffer, currently director of marketing operations, will succeed Marx as director of Nissan marketing communications. He will oversee advertising and lifestyle campaigns for the Nissan brand in the US. He joined Nissan in 2006 and has held management roles in regional marketing, marketing communications, and market development.
In December, Alan Buddendeck, global VP of corporate communications for Nissan, resigned.
Twelve months prior to Buddendeck's departure, the company promoted Paula Angelo to the role of director of corporate communications for Nissan Americas from the role of director of internal communications in the US. At that time, the company also confirmed that Gina Pasco, GM of global corporate and internal communications, would move from Japan to Tennessee to replace Angelo. And David Reuter, VP of corporate communications, was promoted to the VP role from senior director, Nissan Americas,
