ALISO VIEJO, CA: Commodities broker Patrick Kerr launched a new service to share press releases via Twitter two weeks ago after he realized the need for it in the marketplace.
The new service called Twit Press Release was created with the help of a programmer to allow press releases to easily be uploaded and shared on Twitter for free.
“An easy way to directly share releases on Twitter was really missing from online press release services,” Kerr said. “They are doing it, but it is more of an add-on and not quite as integrated.”
Kerr said in the two weeks since its launch users have been experimenting with it and then coming back to use it again.
“The right press release can get out there and get picked up and spread around easily,” Kerr said.
He added that he plans to upgrade some of the features, but to still keep it simple with “no thrills.”
There are plans to eventual monetize the service with basic display ads.
“We shouldn't have a problem monetizing it as it is used by businesses and entertainers and across almost all content areas,” he explained.
