NEW YORK: Marina Maher Communications has hired former CBS senior producer and investigative reporter Susan Bean as EVP, practice leader of its media relations division.

She replaces Paula Hahn, who left in October and is still consulting with the agency on a freelance basis.

Bean was previously SVP, senior partner at Fleishman-Hillard, where she led the consumer media, digital, social media, video and branded integration teams for AT&T. In her new role, she will focus on traditional media, social media and brand experience events for all of Marina Maher's clients.

“Marina Maher is unique in that the agency is all about marketing to women, and they were looking for someone to run a really integrated media practice for women,” Bean told PRWeek. “Before this, I ran an integrated practice with consumer and social media for AT&T, so this is a good fit for me.”

Before Fleishman-Hillard, Bean spent 28 years as a journalist and broadcast producer for CBS News, including for The Early Show, Eye on America and CBS Evening News. She won an Emmy for her coverage of the Enron scandal.
