TUCKER, GA; Mobile accessories brand Case-Mate recently hired Kaplow PR as its AOR. Throughout the one-year contract, Kaplow will be tasked with positioning the brand as a leader among producers of fashion-forward mobile technology accessories within the US and Canada.
According to Shannon Swallow, VP of global marketing for Case-Mate, the brand issued an RFP in October 2010 to a select group of six agencies. After a multiple-round process, Kaplow won the account and began work as AOR in January.
Kaplow was chosen primarily for its strengths in both the consumer technology and fashion sectors. Casemate wanted an agency that would allow it to maintain its core audience in the consumer tech sector, but also help it expand into new verticals like fashion and design.
“We're in a business that crosses both technology and fashion,” Swallow said. “And there are not many agencies that do both well.”
Chaim Haas, SVP of technology, emerging media, and digital strategy at Kaplow said the agency hopes to “really focus on raising [Case-Mate's] visibility as a brand,” while placing a strong focus on the product and also help the company break into the fashion realm.“It's a really exciting company to be working with,” Haas said.
