Budweiser rolled out a CSR program today encouraging men to save one million gallons of water by not shaving during the weeks leading up to World Environment Day on June 5.
Last year, Anheuser-Busch encourage 1,200-plus employees to skip shaving for one week prior to World Environment Day. This time around, the campaign has been expanded to include suppliers, partners, wholesalers, retailers, and consumers.
The "Grow One. Save a Million." campaign, which is part of Budweiser's ongoing commitment to water conservation, is supported on the company's Facebook page, when guys 21 and older can make a pledge and share the program with their friends. In addition, the page features a daily tracker of the gallons saved throughout the initiative. Women are also encourage to recruit male friends and family members."In the past three years alone, our 12 U.S. breweries have reduced water use by 34 percent," said Kathy Casso, VP of CSR at Anheuser-Busch in a press statement. "Additionally, our employees and their families take action by volunteering to participate in local river cleanup projects in communities across the country."
Anheuser-Busch also plans to donate $150,000 to the River Network for World Environment Day.
