PRWeek is in the middle of making its selections for the annual Power List and 40 Under 40 nominees and the process is acting as a useful barometer to understand the level of effectiveness and impact of the communications industry.
The Power List comprises those executives who are really walking the walk as well as talking the talk - it will be published in our July issue. The candidate submissions for the 40 Under 40 process that are given particular attention include those that talk to the extent of the individual's access, integration, and impact on companies' top executives such as the CEO, COO, and CFO. The list will be published in our August issue.
We are also working hard on our annual Corporate Survey, which takes the temperature of the reach and effectiveness of our profession in terms of impact on the C-suite. We know from anecdotal evidence that the industry is making giant strides in its access to and influence on senior management, but it still lacks sufficient hard evidence to truly demonstrate this encouraging trend.
We need your help to make this survey as compelling and comprehensive as possible and provide just such evidence.
If you are a communications professional working in-house, please take 10 minutes to complete the survey here. If you are at an agency, please distribute this link to your clients and encourage them to take part.
The more responses we get the more effective the survey results will be in telling the real story of PR's access to the C-suite and the essential value it offers to companies and organizations. And, as an extra incentive to everyone who takes part, one lucky participant will win an iPad and a year's subscription to The Daily.
A lot of lip service is paid to the subject of PR and communications' access to the C-suite - let's get some compelling evidence to tell the real story.
